Vietnamese door and building facade supplier Eurowindow has recently set up its first overseas office in Yangon. The company also announced plans to invest up to $120 million to build two factories for manufacturing doors and windows and construction materials for local use as well as exports. In the wake of the Myanmar Infrastructure Summit 2018 held on 20 to 22 March, the government plans to work with private companies to meet low-income population housing needs over the next two decades. 80 per cent of this project will be undertaken by private companies, which the government believes will create huge opportunities for local and foreign investors. A 25-member business delegation visited Yangon and Myeik from 28 to 31 March, comprised of representatives from major Thai companies. Meeting with representatives of the District Chambers of Commerce and Industry, both sides discussed opportunities for investment in various areas of industry, including construction machinery.
